CMK Trim Products of Florida opened for business on November 1, 1981 with Bud and Kathy McGlone. CMK sold moldings and accessories, pin stripe, body moldings, and some convertible tops. Four additional employees were added to handle the telephone orders, shipping and sales, along with new automotive lines which were added (i.e.: headlining, carpet, and vinyls).
By 1985, CMK was growing and the decision was made to build a 9,000 square ft. warehouse.
In June 1986, CMK Trim Products of Florida had their "Grand Opening" with a seminar and mini Trade Show. Over 200 customers and attended and 25 vendors displayed their products (re: September 1986 Auto Trim News, story on CMK, FL, and NJ).
Through the years CMK has diversified to become a full line Auto Upholstery distributor, handling leather, vinyls, headliners, carpet and carpet sets, body cloths (original and after market), convertible tops (domestic and foreign), Jeep Wrangler tops and accessories, and many other products -- not to mention the original vinyl tops and Sim-Con tops, shells, and moldings.
We could never have grown to be one of the largest distributors in the Southeast without a vision and working hard to make it come true, without the expertise of hard working employees (over 200 years "combined" experience), and especially our wonderful customers who have been so loyal.
